The Headteacher of Traa Basic School in Techiman South of the Bono East region, Emmanuel Frimpong has been awarded a brand-new salon car with a citation plaque by the Mikan Foundation founded by the Techimam South member of Parliament, Hon Martin Kwaku Adjei-Mensah Korsah, Deputy Minister of Rural Development, Decentralization, and Local Government.
This is the third time that a distinguished teacher in the Techiman South has received a car prize. The second-best and the third prize took home a motorbike. In the third edition of the Mikam Foundation Award, 80 teachers were awarded. The prizes include motorbikes, flat-screen TV sets, table-top refrigerators, laptops, and electrical irons among others.
The best teachers were selected by a neutral retired GES directors team to ensure the best out of the lot get the ultimate prizes.
Micam Foundation founded by Honourable Martin Adjei Mensah Korasah is an individual MP in the country who has awarded distinguished teachers with a car prize, motorbikes, TV sets, and laptops among others to outstanding teachers in the country. According to him, he does this to throw more challenges to more teachers to put up their best in the teaching field.
The headteacher of Traa Basic School, Emmanuel Frimpong has contributed to the Traa community and Kaniagro where he hails. He has provided laptops to his school for ICT classes from his sources. He distinguished himself for the fort prize.
The second prize went to Appiah Gordon of Techiman Methodist Primary B. The Third prize went to Evans Owusu Kwarteng Tanoso Ankoma Senior High. 77 others were also awarded.
Hon Martin Adjei Mensah addressing the teachers said education is the key and fundamental to everything, hence much attention is switched to the teacher! He has a target of ten years for this project before the attention will be switched.
The overall best teacher, Emmanuel Frimpong urged his other colleagues to do their best no matter the circumstances to make a mark.
The chairman of the colourful occasion, Nana Owusu Antwi who represented the Omanhene of the Traditional Area made the overall all-best presentation together with Hon Adjei Mensah Korsah among other dignitaries.
