The Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon by an individual has been surpassed by Afua Asantewaa Aduonum who increased the Sing A Thon hours from 105 to 126. Afua is now a hot demand as many companies will need her adverts.

Afua Asantewaa broke the previous record of 105 hours set by an Indian in 2012 with a five-day singing marathon that started at midnight on Sunday, December 24 and ended at 7:00 am on December 29.

In her short address, Afua Asantewaa praised everyone who assisted her during her public speech after her amazing achievement, even those who were unable to visit the Akwaaba Village.

She challenged the upcoming youth to polish anything that they can do with hard work, determination and prayer to hit the jackpot.

It was a hard task as Afua did not know that today 29th is Friday. She repeatedly asked what day it was. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who took part in this attempt on behalf of my family, team, volunteers, the media, and the Ghana Tourism Authority. It has been smooth but hard though to reach this far! She said.

Afua Asantewaa attended Achemota SHS. She began her career as a journalist and worked for several Ghanaian media companies. She started singing as a pastime in 2018. Her most notable accomplishment was trying to break the Guinness World Record for the longest individual singing marathon in December 2023.
