Kidney sufferers under eighteen and those over sixty can now receive free six-month dialysis sessions, according to the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
The Authority claims that the relocation is a component of its 20th anniversary celebration, which will occur from June to December 2024.
This program comes after Parliament approved GH₵2 million to help people in different parts of the nation who need dialysis.
According to a statement signed by Dr. Da-Costa Aboagye, the Chief Executive Officer of NHIA, patients’ monthly dialysis costs are estimated to be GH¢329,952 upon verification, with a potential cumulative cost of roughly GH¢2.3 million by the end of December 2024.
