Born on June 26, 1992, Mona Faiz Montrage is a Ghanaian socialite, model, musician, businesswoman, and alleged fraudster. She is better known by her stage name, Mona 4Reall, or Hajia4Reall.
Childhood and schooling
Among her siblings, Hajia4Reall was born and reared in Tamale, Ghana’s northern region. Her parents are Lebanese and Ghanaian. Before pursuing her senior education at Labone Senior High School, she completed her elementary education in Tamale.
Mona 4Reall introduced 4Real Beauty, a women’s cosmetics brand, in July 2017.[2][3] She is the owner of a New York-based event and entertainment firm. Talent management, multimedia creation, and event planning are the company’s areas of expertise. The company rose to fame in 2016 when it hosted the Global Wave party, one of Accra’s largest end-of-year events.
The first song that Mona 4Reall released was “Badder Than” in November 2020. M.O.G Beatz, a Ghanaian producer, created the song.[4][5] She launched her song single “Fine Girl” in January 2021, which was produced by Kuami Eugene. Her third single, which featured Ghanaian YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon, was produced by M.O.G. Beatz and released in May 2021. The next month, she dropped “Baby,” her fourth single featuring dancehall artist Shata Wale.
She revealed the track listing for her then-upcoming EP on October 6, 2021. Top performers including Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Efya, and Medikal were featured on the seven-track EP produced by M.O.G. Beatz, Richie Mensah, Mix Master Garzy, and StreetBeatz.[7][8] Six of each of their unique videos debuted on her 4Real Entertainment YouTube page before the EP was launched on October 15, 2021.
In 2022, she was nominated for Best New Artiste of the Year award and her music video for her song Fine Girl was nominated for Best Music Video of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2022. She released a dancehall single “BLOWbyMona”, in 2022. She held her self-named concert in December 2021 which featured other known Ghanaian musicians.
Mona 4Reall was in a relationship with Ghanaian businessman, Kennedy Agyapong known as Kenpong. They parted ways in August 2015. She has a daughter named Naila.
In 2020, on her 27th birthday, she was dashed a brand-new Range Rover and a house located in Trassacco, an estate community in Accra
Mona gave school materials to Bentum community kids in September 2021 after Bentum D.A Basic School requested assistance in a widely shared video.
Mona 4Reall was detained in the UK in November 2022 on suspicion of money laundering. Allegations of her alleged involvement in a $8 million fraud led to her arrest.
She entered a guilty plea to one count of conspiring to collect money that had been stolen in February 2024.[23] She intentionally accepted money from elderly Americans through romantic scams, according to Damian Williams, United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York. A maximum term of five years in jail is imposed for these charges. Hajia4Reall also consented to make restitution in the same amount and pay a forfeiture of $2,164,758.41.
MONTRAGE is a well-known Ghanaian public figure who gained notoriety as an influencer through her Instagram account, which she used under the username “Hajia4Reall.” At one point, she had 3.4 million followers, placing her among the top 10 accounts in Ghana in terms of followers.
Many victims of romance scams who were duped into donating money by members of the Enterprise sent money to MONTRAGE. Payments to bring gold to the United States from overseas, payments to settle a fictitious FBI inquiry, and payments to help a fictitious U.S. Army commander obtain money from Afghanistan were a few of the false pretences used to coerce victims into sending money to MONTRAGE.
Over $2 million in fraudulent funds were received by bank accounts under the control of MONTRAGE from the Enterprise.
MONTRAGE, 31, of Accra, Ghana, entered a guilty plea to a charge of conspiring to obtain money that was stolen. The maximum punishment for this offense is five years in prison. Additionally, MONTRAGE consented to pay $2,164,758.41 in forfeiture and the same amount in restitution. Paul A. Crotty, the U.S. District Judge, will sentence Montage.
The maximum possible punishment in this case is set by Congress and is given here solely for informative reasons; the judge will decide on the defendant’s sentence.
