Pastors and hundreds of residents of Techiman-Bamire in the Bono East Region joined the Bamirehene, Nana Bafour Asare II, to celebrate the 12th anniversary of his enstoolment. The five-day celebration featured several activities, including a clean-up exercise, football, draughts, ampe and other recreational events. The activities brought together traditional leaders, religious groups, community members, and the youth. Nana Bafour Asare II actively participated in the celebrations. He joined a draughts competition and emerged victorious over his opponent, drawing cheers from the gathering.

The anniversary celebration continued on Sunday with a special blessing ceremony. During the event, 20 people were presented with clothing items, including kente fabrics, as part of efforts to support and honour members of the community. The founder of Nyame Tease Church, Bishop Yeboah Afari, among other pastors, started with praises and ended with a prayer for Nana Bafour Asare II, who finally broke down in tears

Prizes were also presented to winners of the various competitions. The best football team received a set of jerseys and a football, while the winner of the draughts competition was presented with a draughts board and a cup. Nana surprised the gathering when he gave spot cash of Gh 5,000 to Mary, along with a sewing machine, to learn a trade.

The occasion reached its peak with a dinner that brought together the traditional authorities, pastors, invited guests, and residents. The dinner provided an opportunity for the people to celebrate the achievements of the Bamirehene and reflect on the development of the community under his leadership.

Addressing the gathering, Nana Bafour Asare II said the anniversary was important to him because it marked 12 years since he ascended the traditional stool. He expressed gratitude to the people for their support and cooperation throughout his reign.

The Bamirehene noted that his administration had undertaken several development projects aimed at improving the lives of residents. Among the projects, he mentioned the construction of a 5,000-seater conference hall, three police stations, a clinic, a family hotel, 16 mechanised boreholes, and 25 public washrooms.

He said the projects formed part of his vision to promote development, improve public services, and create a better environment for the people of Techiman-Bamire.

Nana Bafour Asare II thanked the pastors, traditional leaders, organisers, sponsors and residents for contributing to the success of the anniversary celebration.
