The Wenchi Divisional Police Command of the Bono Region has impounded 26 unregistered and uninsured motorbikes.
The operation was led by the Wenchi Divisional Commander of the Motor Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr. Kofi Oduro Amponsah.
He said the exercise was aimed to reduce the high rate of crime involving unregistered motorbikes in the area.
DSP. Mr. Kofi Oduro Amponsah said owners of the impounded motorbikes were asked to register and insure their bikes at the Driver and Vehicle Licenses Authority (DVLA) and present their documents at the police station for their bikes.
Mr. Kofi Oduro Amponsah said some motorbikes owners have started with the registration.
