Techiman Motorbikes Death Cases Increase From 35 To 51 In 2021

The third quarter of 2021 has recorded 51 deaths through motorbikes in the Bono East region. In the same quarter of 2020, the death cases recorded were 35.

Based on the high number of persons been killed in motorbikes accidents, the Bono East region MTTU police have put in a pragmatic measure to curb the menace by arresting and prosecuting motorbike riders offenders.

The Bono East regional MTTD commander, chief superintendent Daniel Oppong Asirifi speaking to our news team says, the number of road accidents and deaths has both decreased due to their interventions.

In the third quarter of 2020, the region recorded 276 cases of accidents with 132 deaths. In 2021, the road accident cases recorded reduced to 208 with 88 persons killed.

He was however worried motorbikes accidents cases in Techiman every year keep increasing.

The commander attributes the reduction in the general accidents cases and persons killed to their vigorous radio education.
