The NPP faithful believe that the longest and the most experienced presidential aspirant in the NPP primaries is Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten popularly called Alan Cash. He was the only key challenger of President, Nana Akufo Addo in the 2012 NPP primaries.
Sources from the NPP gurus say Alan was advised not to contest in the 2016 elections, which paved way for Nana Akufo Addo to go unopposed. There are countless NPP giants who have openly supported the former trade minister, Hon. Kwadwo Kyeremanten.
Had it not been for democracy, Alan Cash would have gone unopposed. The main team players in the contest are Alan kwadwo Kyeremanten, Dr. Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, Dr Owusu Akoto Afriyei, and Kwaben Agyapong among others.
On records, most of the NPP party faithful say, Dr. Bawumia has already marketed himself well to Ghanaians, however, he has shortcomings as compared to the others in the contest. Many people say Hon. Kennedy Agyapong is also not a junior player to be underrated in this tournament.
