The Black Stars of Ghana will set up camp in Johannesburg, South Africa before the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be hosted in the Ivory Coast, according to confirmation from the Ghana Football Association (GFA). The temperature currently in South Africa is 18 degrees while the Ivory Coast is 31 degrees just like in Ghana. This is a waste of money, a useless trip and senseless. All the same, there will not be any better result in this tournament.
The GFA and the Ministry of Sports lack ideas. Players go to Europe to get acclimatised to the weather, but the situation of GFA has turned the other way. Ivory Coast and Ghana have the same weather temperature, this cheat is too clear. GFA and the Ministry of Sports had arranged for this South Africa trip just to fill pockets with dollars. It is a useless trip to condemn.
The team will report to camp on December 31, 2023, and is anticipated to stay there for around 10 days before leaving for the competition in the Ivory Coast, according to the official announcement from the GFA. There will friendly match against Botswana in Johannesburg as part of their preparation schedule.
In addition, the GFA has stated that it is completely forbidden for the media to cover the Black Stars’ training sessions in South Africa as they get ready for the AFCON.
Ghana is grouped with Mozambique, Egypt, and Cape Verde in Group B. The team will play its first game on Sunday, January 14, 2024, against Cape Verde. Then, on January 18 and January 22, respectively, it will play Egypt and Mozambique.
