The Royal Families of the Sofoase Yefiri and Nkwaduano Yefiri have enstooled the former Ghana’s Ambassador to Denmark, Nana Odensie Frema Tartuo III as the new queen-mother of the Wenchi Traditional Area in the Bono region. The spokesperson of the two royal families, Nana K.A Busia Jr claimed they are the very Indigenous landowners of the Wenchi Traditional Area and have every right to make their King and Queen.
Before the enstoolment of the queen-mother, it was aired in the media for people who had any doubts to challenge, there was no comment against the enstoolment of Nana Odensie Frema Tartuo III. All the family members in the Wenchi catchment area and Dormaa Ahenkro were present to grace the ceremony. The normal processes involved in queen-making were performed as the tradition demands at the palace.
She was enstooled by the queen makers, the libation was made, and they called on their ancestors to pave the way in their kingship journey. They believe they are in line for the throne as the landowners and not the people who came to settle with them to rule as the lords.
The queen-mother, Nana Odensie Frema Tartuo III is preparing to name the Omanhene of the Wenchi Traditional Area from the very royal families of the Sofoase Yefiri and Nkwaduaano Yefiri who are believed to be the conventional landlords of Wenchi. The spokesperson of the two Royal Families, Nana K.A Busi Jr said.
The queen-mother, Nana Odensie Frema Tartuo III, after her enstoolment was carried on shoulders. She demonstrated that the authority had been invested in her as the Wenchi queen-mother. Speaking to the press, she called for unity among the people of Wenchi. She said Wenchi was one of the finest towns in the Brong Ahafo then, but division held them back in development. She pleaded with the authorities to speed up and settle all chieftaincy issues in the Wenchi Traditional Area to bring back their past glories.
