5th December 2024

The Bono East regional deputy manager of Islamic Schools, Ahmed Yushau Saeed has strongly cautioned the SHS students in the Bono East region to avoid all political crises in the coming December elections. He explains further that, politicians only use some classes of people to gain political power and neglect them after they have won power. The deputy regional manager said this when addressing the students, at the Techiman Senior High School assembly hall. This is the first of its kind in the region.

The manager, Ahmend Yushau Saeed, says he organized the Ghana Muslims Students Association Conference for the 2024 election to educate the students about the dangers of elections. He recounted the shooting that led to the deaths of two and 3 injured at the Techiman South election in 2020 election. It therefore becomes necessary to educate the youth to avoid political violence.

Ahemed Saeed cautioned Ghanaians to be more cautious before, during and after the 7th December polls. He says the days that politicians used Muslims in politics now belong to history.

The regional manager of the Islamic Unit Schools in the Bono East, Illiyasu Mohammed, pleaded with all parents to educate their children on political crises, particularly the Muslim communities. He says most of the political crisis victims are Muslims, which is a bad image of Islam. He says it is senseless to sacrifice your life for a political party or MP while his children are in school.

The Bono East Regional Peace Council Chairman, Rev, Prince Owusu Aseku in his address says peace in Ghana is more important than any government or political party. He says it is a mandate that every Ghanaian calls for peace.  He urges the youth to avoid any form of alcohol or hard drugs since the security will not spare anyone who misconducts at the polling station.

The Kentenhene of the Techiman Traditional Area in the Bono East region, Oheneba Owusu Antwi, the First National Trustee of the Ghana Association of Teachers, says Ghana has a good record of handing over power to the next government. The same precedence has come to stay and cannot be changed. The handing over of power by the late J.J. Rawling down to former president John Mahama will remain.  There should be nothing to fear about handing over power, Nana Owusu Antwi said!

Nana pleaded with Ghanaians to ensure that peace prevails since we have only one Ghana and nowhere else when Ghana turns into bloodshed.
